I received this product from Influenster to try. Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation. This is a medium to full coverage foundation as well as it claims that you will see your skin looking better in 3 weeks getting rid of spots, dullness, and unevenness.
I used this foundation as a part of a 3-week challenge that I have fallen in love with this foundation, it has wonderful coverage without leaving my skin feeling dry.
It is a long wear foundation that comes in a variety of shades (12 to be exact ranging from porcelain to coconut). It has the antioxidant Acetyl-C, (a more durable form of vitamin C), and is made for all skin types.
I wanted to try multiple ways of applying this foundation (just because everyone may not want to apply it or have all the tools someone else may have. So, I tried 3 different ways of application products so that way I knew it was the real deal.
First, I tried using my fingers, it was a lot of coverage (for just running a few errands and dropping my kids off to school) so I has to thin it out with a moist cotton applicator because I don’t really like makeup to be heavy on my face.
The next time I did it I used my beauty blender and of course that worked wonderfully, smoothing out where my fingers may have made it “streaky”.
Lastly, I used my foundation brush which had the same coverage amount as if I used my fingers, but gave it more of an airbrushed finish (which I like for nights out with my girls or when I really wanted to have my face fully made up).
Within that 3-week time span, I did notice my skin starting to appear a little better as I do have dark marks and a few scars from picking at pimples. It covered the marks very well without me having to apply concealer before my foundation (which I have had to do with other full coverage foundations), but with the 3 weeks I haven't really noticed a difference enough to say "This is new favorite foundation, I'm switching to this", but it did make enough of a difference to say "hmmmm, it did do a little something".
So here is the answer to the question that everybody wants to know, Do you recommend this foundation? Well my answer is Yes, I do, it isn't overly drying (although I did put a moisturizer with SPF on underneath before my application of the foundation), it did have some serious staying power (there wasn't any real need for me to touch up my foundation. And I did notice a slight improvement of my skin texture and tone.
